You have to wonder about the Illinois Constitution's set up, don't you.  Unlike the US Constition, which requires the President to veto a bill within 10 days, we're stuck with legislation sitting for weeks... months... years under the thumb of Governor King Rod Blagojevich.  Sitting... waiting... to cut off the funding that he oh so loves in his "pay to play" brand of politics.

King Governor Rod Blagojevich is trying to get two political heavyweights, Glen Poshard and former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert to convince the General Assembly that he can be trusted. Crain's Chicago Business is apparently buying into this bamboozle, too with their headline "Blagojevich moves to break budget logjam." But then they go on to say that King Rod himself never bothered to actually sign the memo that outlines the capital spending plan.

Well, King Rod Blagojevich is at it again this year, stalling the state budget. Technically, all of the employees of the state should be on unpaid furlough right now and every state agency, other than emergency services, shut down. And King Rod says he's looking at the unbalanced budget looking for the appropriate areas to slice and dice with his line item veto authority, which he so callously used as a political weapon last fall.

Julie Sayre of ABC-Fox News in Springfield was simply AGHAST as she introduced a story that Rep Bill Mitchell (R-Forsyth) has put a bill onto the floor in the General Assembly to *gasp* CUT OFF GIVING TAX DOLLARS TO ILLEGAL ALIENS! No, Bill, no! How COULD you think of of cutting off the flow of tax dollars to criminals, and making Illinois a less cozy environment for King Rod Blagojevich's favorite ethnic group?

How COULD you?

Old King Rod Blagejovich managed to declare Coles County a disaster area over the weekend - fully a week after the damn burst and the levy failed flooding the small town of Oakland. And it took a day to get Lake County disaster relief. Maybe you should visit us poor country folk here in central Illinois more often, King Rod, maybe you'd have some sympathy for our plight.

Riddle me this - when did the Associated Press put two and two together, and finally figure out that Tony Rezko is merely a stepping stone to the headwaters of Illinois's corrupt government? And why did they soft peddle the mountain of testimony pointing at Governor King Rod Blagojevich?

Now, let us look at the facts. The mayor of Pontiac asked Governor King Rod Blagojevich to declare the city and county a disaster area. And it took King Rod 9 days to do it. When, if he was a normal commuter, traveling between Chicago and Springfield every day, he'd have SEEN FIRST HAND the flooding and woe. But flying over doesn't quite have an impact, I guess.

Well, it's nice and all that King Rod congratulated Mattoon on getting the nod on this might-be project with $1.8 BILLION flowing into Illinois from all over the globe, with 5 years of construction jobs and 150 permanent jobs - But where WAS he? Why wasn't he sitting in Mattoon or Tuscola, waiting for the final word?

The people of Illinois should be calling for the election of Rep. Raymond Poe, R-Springfield, as governor after his second introduction of a bill to eliminate the ripoff of the taxpayer perpetrated by King Rod Blagojevich and has cronies. HB4177 simply states:

"Section 5. Travel expense reimbursement. No State funds
shall be used to pay or reimburse, and no State-compensated

Strange how the world works. The University of Illinois announced that it has developed a new and improved solar cell technology that boosts the power coming from the cells by as much as 67% by doping the surface of the cell with 2.85 nanometer silicon balls.

The Illinois Senate ignored the House on Friday, and instead voted on restoring $59 million of Governor Rod Blagojevich's slash-and-burn line item vetoes totaling $463 million.

Dear Senator Righter and Congressman Rose:

I ask that discussion begin on the impeachment of Governor Rod Blagejovich for breach of Article V, Section 21 of the Illinois Constitution.

King Rod Blagojevich must really think people have taken their eye off the ball on his slash and burn line-item budget vetoes, if he thinks we're buying into it being a good idea to build more casinos to fund school and road work.

Well, King Rod Blagojevich still hasn't released money for the schools. Oh no, let's not make sure they keep running or anything.

But I've got to ask, just what the hell does State Senator Mike Jacobs thinks he's doing telling the schools to spend the money like they have it, because they'll have it soon.

The well-intentioned Illinois House Democrats continue their series of town hall meetings around the state, to demonstrate to King Rod Blagojevich and Emil Jones that the potentially disastrous set of line-item vetoes will demolish many human service agencies' ability to serve the public.
