As some of you can tell, this past week I've written more than my fair share of commentary about the situation of illegal aliens flooding into the United States, which some have taken to be racially motivated. I love hate mail – it means someone is paying attention to what I’m writing about what the left is calling “illegal immigration” and what I call nothing short of an all-out Mexican invasion of the United States by illegal aliens.

Nothing that I have been writing about this issue is about race or ethnicity. I could insert "Vogon" in place of the primary nation from which these people are coming, and the exact same arguments apply. Immigration yes - uncontrolled immigration, no. One is a way to continue to grow, invigorate, and diversify our nation - the other one merely an invasion by a culture bent on taking over and wiping out the existing one. And history shows us that an unrestrained influx of people from a different culture has only one possible conclusion that comes from such a massive culture clash - War.

I see a world of difference between someone who immigrated here legally and assimilated into the culture, and what has been going on for the last 10 years. The sheer numbers of people coming in from the south is tantamount to a gun-less invasion that has been waged on the United States. To me, this is not about race, this is not about ethnicity, this is about the country and its melting pot culture being overrun, and creating an entirely different nation within the nation. We are heading down a path to civil war if this is permitted to continue.

The numbers work out this way. Imagine an aircraft carrier with 50,000 people from (you name the country, doesn't matter which one) landing twice a month, and then taking over entire towns. That's about the size of the army Hitler used in WWII to invade France - every... single... month. That's about half the size of the army it took the United States to invade and take back France - every single month. The math just doesn't work. There's no way for any country, I don't care WHAT country, to assimilate that many people.

Every year for the past ten years, a city the size of Indianapolis, Cleveland or Milwaukee has been created.

It does not matter where these people are coming from, not when they're showing up in such huge numbers. Nothing of this magnitude, ever, has happened before, except in times of war. And I believe this IS part of a war - not waged by the average Mexican citizen, not waged by the average American citizen - but one waged by the rich and powerful against the rest of us, from BOTH sides of the border.

The people enabling this invasion - the business owners who are knowingly hiring in the US, and the ones displacing Mexicans from having a viable economy in Mexico, need to be SQUASHED. The jokers in Washington aren't doing jack about it, and neither is the government in Mexico City. Two US states are taking matters into their own hands - Arizona and Oklahoma. I'm not aware of any Mexican states trying to curb the outflow of their citizens by offering them ways and means to stay at home. One - Sonora - is trying to get them to LEAVE again.

I know these are hard working people just trying to get by. Their motivation is survival. And I do not blame them one bit for trying to escape from the trap that was laid for them in 1994. But there has to be a point where everyone in the US, who came here by the rules (ancestor or themselves personally) has to say "ENOUGH, we can't handle any more."

And each and every person crossing the border illegally knows that they are committing a crime by doing so. It doesn't matter which border they cross.

I love the cultural diversity of this country - I mean I LOVE it. But it requires effort to assimilate into any new situation, and GOD was it brave for anyone to come here - I'm not sure I'd have the cajones to do it, even though there was a time when I was going to flee this country because of the Viet Nam war. My ancestors are a combination of Euro and Native American. My Euro ancestor was sent here as a virtual slave as an indentured servant over 300 years ago. And we all know how well the Native Americans did in maintaining against the flood of Europeans - their culture was destroyed, after a war that lasted about 50 years. My GGGrandmothers didn't have any members of their tribes LEFT to marry, so they married a white man. And my one GGrandmother, a tough old Scots broad by all the tales I've heard of her, married a Native American man when she crossed the country ALONE to pioneer the Midwest.

I do not BLAME these people for fleeing Mexico. They are refugees caused by NAFTA, which I see as the biggest con job ever pulled off on the people of all three countries, so the rich can get richer, and the rest of us get screwed. NAFTA screwed the average Mexican, in a HUGE way. The number of people who have had to leave their ancestral homes staggers me, all caused by NAFTA and the FLOOD of cheap US foodstocks into Mexico Mexico is now unable to feed its own people with food produced within its own borders.

The difference is that with refugees, they eventually go home, once the problem that forced them out is resolved. The solution for the Mexican government courtesy of former Presidente Vincente Fox, is to tell these people to go to the U.S., then send the cash home. He LITERALLY said this in a public speech. There is NO internal solution forthcoming in Mexico. Not until the Mexican government steps up with some leaders. Not until the American people say "STOP." And NOW the Mexican government is even saying "Don't come back." I mean, what the hell is with THAT?

The only OTHER solution I see is for the two nations to merge - which would create an entirely different war. US citizens won't accept the working conditions that Mexican law does. Labor rates would have to shift radically - downward within the US - and that's being forced upon us already. Ecological laws would have to changed (well, more like even ADOPTED in Mexico). And then there's the entire issue of establishment of a national language, because language is the glue that binds a culture together, and ties the laws all together. You and I both know that the average American knows jack about a different language, and your typical redneck would rather open fire than try to wrap his peabrain around the words "Como esta'?" Again - we're talking civil war with guns.

I'd rather go hungry three days running than accept a handout of any kind. This is mainly by choice, but partly because of the way business gets done in America, without any loyalty to anything except getting richer - and I've helped make 3 different people get VERY rich in Illinois - who all cut me loose when they thought they could squeeze another nickel into their pocket. My folks both worked their asses off their entire lives. So have I. My oldest son... maybe not, if he keeps up with his meteoric rise, but the other kids? My youngest will be lucky to get a job busing tables - assuming the restaurant owner won't hire somene who will work for less than the legal wage.

I hope this lengthy explanation clears up why I am writing about this issue. I have NOTHING but respect for people who immigrate here by choice and who follow the rules to get here - It takes really BIG BALLS to want to become part of our Darwinian economic system. And I respect that people have a right to survive. But the massive numbers are overwhelming the culture and economy. And there are plenty of able-bodied workers in the United States who are unwilling to take these jobs - because THEIR survival isn't on the table - and I believe that needs to end, too.

I also feel that unless something is done, now, there is going to be a shooting war as more and more people become disaffected and disowned with the free flow of cheap and illegal labor into the country. I don't want to be part of that war. I seriously expect that in certain cities, unless this is stopped, we're going to see racially-motivated rioting that is going to make 1967-1969 look like a picnic in the park by comparison.
