Good Omens
Right from the opening paragraph, you know you're in for something completely different when you start this novel co-authored by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
The forces of good and evil, God and Satan, are about to set the world into the Apocalypse - if only they can find the Anti-Christ. Unfortunately for both sides, there was a mix-up in the nursery, and the whereabouts of his Unholiness becomes clearly unknown upon Satan's Scion's 12th birthday, and Fluffy the demon dog does not appear at the party.
It is impossible to tell with any certainty how Pratchett and Gaiman managed to pull off this incredible collaboration, but you can definitely 'feel' both of their influences, with Pratchett's characteristic bite and Gaiman's ability to mold scenes of dread from what appear to be the most common occurrences.
Fans of Monty Python, Wodehouse, and just flat out satire that lampoons everything from politics to religion will enjoy this read.
